On March 25, 2022, Notice of Settlement was mailed to newly-identified members of the Settlement Class. If you recently received in the mail a Notice of Settlement, you have until May 9, 2022, either to submit a Claim Form or to request exclusion from the Settlement.
Do you need to submit a Claim Form?
Submitting a Claim Form is the only way to receive a payment if you are a Former Tenant who qualifies as a Class Member or if you moved from an HHDC Property after February 16, 2021.
Do you have the right to request exclusion from the Settlement?
If you are one of the newly-identified Class Members who recently received in the mail a Notice of Settlement, then you have the right to request exclusion (opt out) from the Settlement. If you are a member of the Settlement Class and you wish to keep your right to sue any of the Defendants about the claims alleged and settled in this case, you must exclude yourself from the Settlement. If you exclude yourself, you will not get any money from the Settlement. You may not submit a Claim Form if you exclude yourself from the Settlement.
